Kranskop Dorpers

Kranskop Dorpers are situated on the farm Kranskop between Calvinia and Williston in the Northern Cape province of South Africa.

Kranskop Dorpers is a registered Dorper stud with the Dorper Sheep Breeders Association of South Africa and South African Stud Book. Since our inception in the year 2000, we have strictly selected for hardened, adaptability, fertile and good mother characteristics to ensure a lamb with the best possible weaning weight.

We strive to offer the ideal Dorper sheep, an animal which can maintain itself, produce meat and reproduce under sub-optimal conditions. Proof of this was when in 2016 Kranskop Dorpers had the highest merit ram on Vredendal Field Ram Auction. The ram also had the highest index in the auctions history.

We pride ourselves that we are always available to assist a client with advice and assistance to take their Dorper herd to new heights and we only offer animals that are selected by the inspectors of the Dorper Sheep Breeders' Society of South Africa that ensures functionality and an attractive appearance and in collaboration with veterinary surgeons we guarantee you a fertile and disease-free animal.
